"I am always busy, which is perhaps the chief reason why I am always well."
--Elizabeth Cady Stanton
I am currently an assistant professor of Human Resources in the School of Industrial Labor Relations at Cornell University. I received my PhD from the University of Florida (2009), and my BA, BBA and MBA from the University of Kentucky (2003, 2004). I am also a certified sports marketing professional from the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business Administration (http://www.sportsmarketing.org/).
My research is primarily focused on gender differences and diversity, including work-family issues, the gender wage gap, stereotypes, and discrimination. I am involved with the GDO division of the Academy of Management and the American Association of University Women.
My husband, James Huggins, is a self-proclaimed basketball aficionado and NBA junkie. He graduated from Santa Fe Community College in 2006 and the University of Florida in 2008. He is currently Director of Basketball Operations for Cornell's Men's and Women's teams.

We have two cats--Butchie and Jasmine--who enjoy watching the local wildlife outside of our windows.

Butchie is not too keen on the picture taking.

My kitties' favorite pastime? Sleeping.
In October 2009, we got a golden retriever puppy named Otis. Otis has gone through a lot--bilateral hip dysplasia surgery at 6 months of age, Lyme disease and even a histiocytoma. But he's a sweet, mellow, amazing dog, and I wouldn't trade him for the world. (Check out otisjourney.blogspot.com if you want to know more about his journey through hip dysplasia. Otherwise, just enjoy the menagerie of photos below.)

Otis as a little guy, chewing on sticks. That would be HIS favorite pastime.

Otis and Butchie hanging out. Jasmine still won't go anywhere near him.

He's a water-bug.
